TEHRAN -- The jury of Iran’s Abolhassan Najafi Prize has selected 11 translations for the final stage of the award’s ninth edition, after reviewing 160 works published in 2024 and submitted to the prize’s secretariat.
The finalists were announced by a jury comprising Zia Movahed, Mahasti Bahreini, Abdollah Kowsari, Hussein Masoumi-Hamadani, Omid Tabibzadeh, Abtin Golkar, Narges Ghandilzadeh, Farzaneh Doosti and Muhammad Reza Tork-Tatari, with Ali-Asghar Muhammadkhani serving as secretary.

The Abolhassan Najafi Prize is presented annually in honor of the renowned Iranian translator and linguist, recognizing his contribution to Iranian literature, culture and the field of translation. The award is given to the best translation of a novel or collection of short stories published during the preceding year.
The ninth Abolhassan Najafi Prize ceremony is scheduled to take place at 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, at the Central Book City in Tehran.
