Official: West Azarbaijan Poised for Industrial Expansion With Dozens of Projects

TEHRAN – Iran’s West Azarbaijan Province is set for a new phase of industrial development with the opening and implementation of 47 major industrial projects which will create over 5,000 jobs.
Sakhavat Kheirkhah, director general of the province’s Department of Industry, Mining and Trade, said on Saturday that 41 of the projects are already ready to become operational; another six are prepared for groundbreaking.
He highlighted the role of the “INOVA” investment initiative, which aims to create an integrated framework for attracting investors and facilitating investment in West Azarbaijan.
According to Kheirkhah, the initiative has helped pave the way for new investment in the production sector, facilitating major industrial projects, boosting employment and strengthening the province’s position as an emerging industrial hub in Iran.
The projects cover a wide range of sectors, including steel, construction glass, food processing, mineral industries such as gold, silica and limestone processing, engine oil, cardboard, and textiles, among others, according to the provincial official.
