Tehran Stocks Post Modest Gains on First Trading Day of Week
TEHRAN - The Iranian capital market continued its modest upward trajectory on the first trading day of the week, Saturday, August 15, with the benchmark index gaining 141 points.
The Tehran Stock Exchange’s main index, TEDPIX, edged up by 141 points on Saturday to close at 5,736 points. Transaction volume registered a high figure of 874,876 trades, pushing total market turnover near 400 trillion rials.
The equal-weighted index also tracked higher, rising by 1,595 points to reach 1.606 million points. Major market movers influencing the main index included National Iranian Copper Industries Co. (FEMLI), PESHNA, Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Co. (SHBANDAR), Mobarakeh Steel Co. (FOOLAD), Bank Mellat (WEBMELAT), TICO, and Ghadir Investment Co. (UGHADIR).
Meanwhile, Iran Fara Bourse (IFB) experienced a steady gain, with its main index, IFX, rising 126 points to close at 46,056 points. IFB recorded 383,430 transactions, with key market drivers including Golgohar Mining and Industrial Co. (KEGOHAR), FEZER, Marun Petrochemical Co., Arya Sasol Polymer Co., Arian, VAMPNA, and Sugarcane.
