TEHRAN - Iranian Minister of 
Agriculture Jihad Gholamreza Noori Ghezeljeh has met with Afghan Minister of Industry and Commerce Nooruddin Azizi in Kabul to discuss facilitating mutual exports, improving transit routes, and strengthening bilateral economic ties.
The Ministry of Agriculture Jihad on Thursday announced that the meeting focused on expanding trade exchanges, facilitating cross-border transport, and establishing favorable conditions to boost private sector engagement between the two neighboring nations.
Noori Ghezeljeh, who serves as the Iranian head of the Iran-Afghanistan Joint Economic Cooperation Commission, emphasized utilizing the commission to translate bilateral agreements into actionable programs. He also called for convening the seventh joint economic commission meeting to resolve trade barriers and identify new commercial opportunities.
During his visit to the Afghan capital, the Iranian minister also held a roundtable with traders, business representatives, and economic operatives to review existing capacities and structural challenges in bilateral trade. Discussions centered on agricultural cooperation, heavy machinery, product trade, and establishing direct linkages between business associations.
Stressing that the private sector plays a decisive role in sustainable economic relations, Noori Ghezeljeh invited Afghan business leaders to visit Iran for direct negotiations with Iranian agricultural and corporate enterprises.
He reiterated the importance of regular exchanges of commercial delegations and closer coordination between trade chambers to enhance mutual investment and overall trade volume.
