THERAN - Iran football team will play a friendly match against the Russian national team in Kazan on October 27.
The Russian Football Federation announced that the country’s football team will hold a friendly match against Iran in Kazan.
The friendly match will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at the Kazan Arena Stadium.
The Russian Football Federation has released a special poster for the match, in which Mehdi Taremi is seen next to Amirov, midfielder of Spartak Moscow and the Russian national team.
The Iranian national football team performed well in the World Cup and, with three draws and no defeats, was at the height of its bad luck in not reaching the next stage of the competition.
The Russian national team is currently ranked 35th in FIFA and 16th in Europe, under head coach Valery Karpin.
