TEHRAN - The Iranian national youth handball team failed to beat the Japanese team and lost 28-27 at the 2026 Asian Junior Handball Championship on Monday. 
The Iranian youth handball faced the five-time Asian champion, Japan and the match, ended with a close score of 28-27 in favor of the Japanese side.
Iran have so far earned 5 points from thrir 5 matches and will face India in its sixth match on Tuesday. Sadeghi’s team will secure their place in the quarterfinals if they win against India.
