Iran Ranks Ninth in Global Pipeline Gas Exports in 2025

TEHRAN - Iran exported 15.4 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas via pipeline in 2025, making it the world’s ninth-largest pipeline gas exporter, Statistical Review of World Energy reported.
The report said that Turkey and Iraq were the most important customers of Iran’s gas. Iran exported 7.4 billion cubic meters of gas to Turkey and 7.5 billion cubic meters of gas to Iraq this year. Iran also exported 0.5 billion cubic meters of gas to the Caucasus region. Iran’s gas exports in 2025 grew by about 3 percent compared to the previous year, and in 2024 it exported over 15 billion cubic meters of gas through pipelines.
According to the report, Iran ranked ninth in the world in terms of gas exports through pipelines in 2025. Norway was the world’s largest exporter of gas through pipelines, exporting 115 billion cubic meters of gas in 2026.
Russia with 101 billion cubic meters, the United States with 94 billion cubic meters, Canada with 87 billion cubic meters, Turkmenistan with 37 billion cubic meters, Algeria with 32 billion cubic meters, Azerbaijan with 23 billion cubic meters, and Qatar with 19 billion cubic meters were in the next ranks and ahead of Iran.
