THERAN – Iran’s 
Yasin Akbari on Tuesday qualified for the 2026 Nagoya Asian Games.
The 9th Asian Poomsae Championship was set up with the presence of 226 poomsae players from 21 countries in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia with the aim of qualification for the Nagoya Asian Games.
On the first day, the competitions followed in the individual section, and the Iranian national team with four athletes performed in two standard and innovative sections.
 Yasman Limouchi, Marjan Salahshouri, Yasin Akbari, and Yasin Zandi formed the national team, none of whom were successful in winning a medal. But Yasin Akbari qualified for the Nagoya Asian Games by appearing in the finals of the competition in the creative section.
Hussein Beheshti leads men’s poomsae team and Negar Madadkhani leads the women’s group as head coach.
