ISPA: Iran Produces Over 32mn Tonnes of Steel Products in 12 Months
TEHRAN - The Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA) said the country produced 11.459 million tons of steel products in the 11 months of the previous Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2024, to February 22, 2025).
According to the reports, Iran produced more than 31 million tonnes of steel products, recorded a growth of more than 6% I the last year.
The report added, despite the of energy restrictions, Iran’s steel production volume recorded an increase of 6.2% due to management and the introduction of new capacities in both the production and energy self-sufficiency sectors by steelmakers. Thus, Iran’s steel production in the last year reached 32.1 million tonnes.
However, the country’s total steel product production volume in 2025 had a reverse trend and experienced a decrease of 1.8%. This is while sponge iron recorded the highest production growth among steel chain products with a growth of 16%, but upstream of the steel chain, the production of iron ore pellets and concentrates remained at the same levels as last year.
