20 Countries Unite in Tehran for 33rd Qur’an International Exhibition

TEHRAN -- The 33rd International Quran Exhibition officially opened on Saturday at Imam Khomeini Mosalla in Tehran, with a focus on promoting Qur’anic knowledge and celebrating the 1,500th anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)’s birth.
The International Section, running alongside the domestic segment for two weeks, welcomed representatives from 20 countries across three categories: arts, science, and cultural products.
Mostafa Husseini Neishabouri, director of the International Section, highlighted the diversity of participating nations, including Turkey, Oman, Egypt, and Bahrain in the arts, seven countries in the scientific segment, and three countries showcasing Quran-themed cultural products.
He emphasized the exhibition’s goal of representing regions from North Africa, the Arab-Islamic world, neighboring countries, Indonesia, South Asia, and ASEAN nations.
For the first time, the International Section will honor prominent foreign Qur’anic figures alongside domestic contributors, with two selected for recognition.
Approximately 20 book unveilings and 20 discussion panels are scheduled during the event. New initiatives include presenting Iran’s Qur’anic capabilities to international guests through multilingual brochures and video clips.
The exhibition will also host the fourth Tehran Qur’anic Symposium, where scholars from various countries will discuss “The Qur’an and the Prophet” in commemoration of the Prophet’s 1,500th birthday. Special guests include Sheikh Abu Jarra Sultani from Algeria, a Qur’anic scholar with 25 published volumes of Qur’an commentary.
Husseini Neishabouri emphasized that activities extend beyond the Qur’an to include Nahj al-Balagha and Sahifa Sajjadiya, reflecting the exhibition’s broader focus on Quran and Ahl al-Bayt studies. Some exhibits highlight contemporary themes such as jihad al-tabyin (clarifying truth), countering misinformation, and engaging in cultural dialogue.
Running until February 15, the exhibition welcomes visitors daily from 4 PM to 11 PM under the theme “Iran Under the Protection of the Qur’an.”
