TEHRAN - Former head coach of Iran’s national Greco-Roman wrestling team Muhammad was named as new head coach of Azerbaijan’s national team.
Bana, who resigned from coaching the Iranian Greco-Roman wrestling team in December 1402, has reached an agreement with the Azerbaijan Federation to lead the country’s Greco-Roman wrestling team, IRNA news Agency reported.
In an interview with IRNA, the Iranian coach of the Azerbaijan national wrestling team, Sabah Shariati, confirmed the agreement and announced that Bana has officially become the head coach of Azerbaijan.
Bana inspired Iran’s Greco-Roman wrestling team to win the championship at the London Olympic Games.
The Iranian wrestlers won three gold medals in the London 2012 Olympic Games, and is regarded as the most successful coach in Iran’s Greco-Roman wrestling history.
