TEHRAN — The 19th edition of the Iran International Documentary Film Festival, Cinema Verite, will feature a compelling slate of 10 international documentaries in its “Gaza” competition, organizers announced.
Now in its second year, the “Gaza” section spotlights films that explore the human stories, struggles, and resilience emerging from the region.
The lineup includes: Gaza: Stolen Childhood by Mo’men Ghanim (Palestine/Qatar); I Will Not Forget You by Mohamed Reda Kaznai (Morocco/Qatar); The Promise by Hussein Ali Qanso (Lebanon); Palestine Lentils by Hamdi Khalil Elhusseini and Samar Taher Lulu (Palestine); Seventeen Dollars and Seventy-Four Cents by Justin Mashouf (U.S.); Still Playing by Mohamed Mesbah (France/Palestine); A Man Fell by Giovanni C. Lorusso (Italy/Lebanon); Hind Rajab Under Siege by Naji Salameh (Jordan); Notes on an Exile by Gustavo Castro (Brazil/Palestine); and Free Words: A Poet from Gaza by Abdullah Harun Ilhan (Egypt/Turkey).
“These films bring the realities of Gaza to international audiences, combining intimate storytelling with the power of documentary cinema,” said the festival organizers.
The festival, under the artistic direction of Muhammad Hamidi-Moghaddam, runs from December 10–16 at Tehran’s Mellat Cinema Complex.
