TEHRAN -- The Salt Men Archaeology Museum in Zanjan has reopened its doors following the completion of the second phase of the Sabzeh Meydan urban development project, offering visitors renewed access to one of Iran’s most remarkable archaeological collections.
According to Mikaeil Mousavi, director general of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Zanjan Province, the northern phase of the Sabzeh Meydan project provided the necessary infrastructure to resume operations at the museum. 
The reopening, effective from the first day of Aban (October 23), allows scholars, enthusiasts, and the general public to once again engage with this unique archaeological site.
“This reopening represents a significant step in the advancement of cultural tourism in Zanjan,” Mousavi explained. “The museum, as one of the most prominent exhibitions of Iran’s ancient heritage, possesses an exceptional capacity to attract both domestic and international visitors.”
The museum preserves the world-renowned Salt Men of Chehrabad Mine, dating back over two millennia. These extraordinarily well-preserved human remains provide invaluable insight into the ancient lives, funerary practices, and material culture of the region, and they are considered globally unique artifacts within the corpus of archaeological study.
