TEHRAN -- Iran’s Navy claimed top honors in both the rescue and shooting contests at the Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS) 2025 Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Working Group held in Nowshahr from October 6–9. 
The event, hosted by Imam Khomeini Naval University, featured naval teams from Iran, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, India, the UAE, Indonesia, and China, focusing on enhancing maritime rescue skills and coordination. During the drills, teams responded to simulated distress calls, rescued and provided first aid to injured persons, and transferred them to medical centers.
