Abolfazl Zarifpour Breaks National Record at World Para Swimming Championships
TEHRAN - Iran’s para swimming national champion Abolfazl Zarifpour on Wednesday managed to break the national record in thrilling 100-meter freestyle in Singapore.
Zarifpour finished 11th in the preliminary round of the 100-meter freestyle event in the S9 class with a time of 57.93 seconds and failed to qualify for the finals.
He improved his record in this event and improved the national record by 43.00 seconds and register it in his name.
Zarifpour will face his opponents in the 50-meter freestyle event in the S9 class on Saturday.
Sina Zeighaminejad will compete in the 100-meter freestyle event in the S10 class on Friday, October 25.
The Paralympic Swimming World Championships will be hosted by Singapore, with 585 athletes from 75 countries participating.
