TEHRAN -- The deputy commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Tuesday that enemies led by the United States united against Iran in the recent conflict but quickly surrendered.

Brigadier General Ali Fadavi said the adversaries had declared their intent to annihilate Iran before the war but soon recognized Iran’s strength, especially after a strike on the largest U.S. military base in the region. “Following the strike on the U.S. military base in Qatar, the U.S. president immediately contacted the Emir of Qatar to request a ceasefire,” Fadavi said. “One must ask, ‘Did they lack aircraft, troops, missiles, or money that they chose to surrender?’”
