TEHRAN – Iran beat Tunisia 3-1 (23–25, 25–20, 25–23, 25–16) at the 2025 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship.
Poriya Hussein Khanzadeh scored 21 points for Iran, and captain Morteza Sharifi earned 18 points.
Team Melli are scheduled to play the Philippines on Thursday.
Italy are the defending champion, having won its fourth title in 2022.
Taking place in Manila, Philippines, the championship features 32 teams from across the world competing for the coveted title, divided into eight pools of four teams, where the top two advance to the knockout stage.
