TEHRAN – Iran’s Energy Minister Abbas Aliabadi has inaugurated a 21 MW solar power plant in a video conference with the presence of the Governor of Yazd and a group of provincial officials.
Managing Director of the Yazd Regional Electricity Seyyed Abbas Husseini said the solar power plant put into operation with investment amount of $60mn.
Husseini added, these power plants include the first phase of the 20 MW power plant in Bahabad with a capacity of 10 MW, the Ardakan Steel Complex power plant with a capacity of 6 MW, and the Sabz Khorshid power plant in Yazd with a capacity of 3 MW.
Also, at this ceremony, 2 MW of domestic and support solar power plants were put into operation in the province.
Yazd has taken the first place in renewable energy production, and the provinces of Isfahan with 211 MW and Kerman with 202 MW are in the next area in the country in the field of renewable energy.
The installed capacity of solar power plants in Yazd province is over 220 megawatts.
With an annual average of more than 3,200 hours of sunshine, Yazd province has a vast capacity for sustainable electricity production that can play a key role in reducing environmental pollutants and increasing energy efficiency in the country.
Today, 100 megawatts of solar power plants were put into operation in eight provinces of the country with the online presence of the Minister of Energy.
