TEHRAN -- The most common male names in Iran have been revealed by the country’s Population Monitoring Center under the National Organization for Civil Registration. Topping the list is “Muhammad,” with a staggering 2,707,671 bearers across the nation.
According to data released on Monday by the organization’s public relations office, “Ali” follows closely with 2,496,060 instances, and “Hussein” rounds out the top three with 1,884,145.
The names “Mehdi,” “Reza,” “Hassan,” “Muhammad Reza,” “Alireza,” “Ahmad,” and “Amir Hussein” also feature prominently, holding high ranks in the register’s extensive database.
These figures, drawn from the National Population Information Database, underscore the enduring cultural and religious significance these names hold across Iran, reflecting centuries of tradition and shared identity.
