Yemen Vows Continued Strikes on Israel After Assassination of PM

SANA’A (Dispatches) -- A senior official of Yemen’s Ansarullah resistance movement vowed to continue retaliatory operations deep inside Israeli-occupied territories and against Israeli-affiliated targets in the Red Sea.
These actions are a direct response to the Israeli airstrike that killed Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Nasser al-Rahawi and several cabinet members in Sana’a on August 28, Muhammad al-Bukhaiti, a member of Ansarullah’s political bureau, said.
“Our operations will not cease until the set goals are attained,” Bukhaiti declared. “The Zionist enemy should know that the blood of our martyred leaders and ministers will not be wasted.”
The Government of Change and Construction confirmed on August 30 that Prime Minister Rahawi and others were targeted during a workshop in Sana’a. In response, Mahdi al-Mashat, Chairman of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council, promised, “We shall take vengeance, and we shall forge from the depths of wounds a victory.”
Shortly after Bukhaiti’s remarks, a Yemeni drone penetrated Israeli airspace and struck its target at Ramon Airport near Eilat, marking the fourth drone operation from Yemen that day. Israeli media confirmed the strike hit a passenger terminal, injuring two settlers. Footage of the aftermath showed smoke rising from the site, affirming Yemen’s growing drone capabilities and its expanding regional reach.
These strikes are part of a broader Yemeni response to Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, which has killed about 64,400 Palestinians, many of them women and children, since October 2023.
In solidarity with the people of Gaza, the Yemeni Armed Forces have declared a strategic maritime blockade in the Red Sea to prevent the shipment of weapons and military supplies to Israel.
Yemen has also launched dozens of missile and drone attacks on Israeli military and economic targets in the occupied territories, aligning its resistance with that of Palestinians facing relentless Israeli aggression.
Ansarullah has made clear that its operations will persist until Israel halts its brutal ground and aerial campaign in Gaza.
