Declaring Decisive Battle, Yemenis Mark Prophet’s Birth
SANA’A (Dispatches) -- Millions across Yemen marked the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) in Sana’a and 14 other provinces, including Hudaydah, Ibb, Hajjah, Sa’ada, Raymah, Ma’rib, Amran, Ta’iz, Dhamar, and Bayda, with massive crowds gathering in main streets on Thursday to commemorate the auspicious occasion.
In the capital, Yemen’s Defense Minister Muhammed al-Atifi and Army Chief of Staff Muhammad Abd al-Karim al-Ghamari described the current situation as a decisive battle between right and wrong, emphasizing that Yemen stands firm in defending its sovereignty and the rights of its people.
The commemoration took on heightened significance after last week’s Israeli airstrike on Sana’a, which martyred Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb al-Rahawi of Yemen’s National Government of Change and Construction along with eight senior officials.
Al-Atifi and al-Ghamari vowed that the blood of the martyrs would not be forgotten and warned that all aggressors would be held accountable. They reaffirmed Yemen’s unwavering support for its brothers in Gaza, pledging continued resistance against Israeli aggression.
During the celebrations, Ansarullah leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi delivered a powerful speech highlighting the ongoing U.S.-backed Israeli war on Gaza, which is now entering its second year. He condemned Israel’s daily assaults on Al-Aqsa Mosque and the West Bank, criticizing the silence and inaction of many Muslims.
Houthi warned that Israel’s ambitions extend far beyond Palestine, with plans openly declared by its leaders to reshape the Middle East and establish “Greater Israel,” a vision rooted in extremist Zionist ideology encompassing occupied Palestinian lands, Syria’s Golan Heights, Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, and beyond.
He emphasized that the only path to protect the Islamic Ummah from this aggression is through steadfast resistance and jihad against the oppressive Israeli regime and its supporters.
Al-Houthi reaffirmed Ansarullah’s commitment to the Qur’an, the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, and the ongoing struggle against tyranny.
Since the onset of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023, Yemeni forces have launched numerous missile and drone attacks against Israeli targets in solidarity with the Palestinian people, striking airports, ports, and military sites.
This week, Yemeni forces fired a “Zulfiqar” ballistic missile targeting Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv, forcing the suspension of airport operations and sending Israeli settlers into shelters.
The Yemeni Armed Forces condemned the complicity of some Arab and Muslim governments, slamming them for enabling Israel’s brutal siege and aggression, which only worsens famine and civilian suffering in Gaza. The forces called on all nations to fulfill their religious, moral, and humanitarian duties to end the ongoing crimes of the Israeli regime.
Despite sustained Israeli airstrikes, including the recent assassination of al-Rahawi and senior officials, Yemen’s resolute defense forces vow to continue their campaign in support of Palestine until the siege and aggression cease.
Israel’s war minister Israel Katz issued threats against the Yemenis, invoking biblical plagues in response to missile attacks, signaling escalating tensions.
