Ansarullah Vows ‘Real Surprises’ for Israel After Assassinations of Leaders

SANAA (Dispatches) -- The Yemeni resistance movement Ansarullah has vowed to deliver “real” and unexpected retaliatory strikes against Israel in response to recent Israeli assassinations of top Yemeni officials and the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.
Dhaifallah al-Shami, a senior member of Ansarullah’s Political Bureau, told Lebanon’s Al-Mayadeen news network that the group possesses “immense military capabilities” and warned that their forthcoming actions would surprise both allies and adversaries alike.
Shami emphasized that with increased resources, Ansarullah could extend its military support directly to the Palestinian front across the seas.
This statement came shortly after the Yemeni military launched a drone attack targeting Israeli-occupied territories. Furthermore, Yemen’s Armed Forces announced a successful ballistic missile strike on an Israeli oil tanker, the Scarlet Ray, in the northern Red Sea.
Military spokesperson Yahya Saree confirmed the operation hit its target and achieved its objectives, underscoring Yemen’s commitment to striking at Israeli interests beyond its borders.
The escalation follows Israeli airstrikes on Yemen’s capital, Sana’a, which martyred Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb al-Rahawi of the National Government of Change and Construction, along with eight other officials.
Ansarullah leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi condemned the attacks as part of Israel’s “record of terror” in the region, praising the victims as “martyrs of all Yemen.”
Houthi denounced Israel’s ongoing violence against civilians, highlighting the regime’s disregard for children, women, and defenseless populations.
“The crime of targeting ministers and civilian officials is added to the criminal record of the Israeli enemy in the region,” he said, reinforcing the movement’s determination to continue its resistance.
Since Israel’s brutal offensive against Gaza began in October 2023, which has resulted in the deaths of over 63,500 Palestinians—including large numbers of women and children—and left more than 160,600 injured, Yemeni forces have conducted numerous retaliatory attacks in solidarity with the besieged Palestinians. They have also imposed a sea blockade that has significantly disrupted the Israeli economy.
Ansarullah has vowed to maintain pressure on Israel through missile and drone strikes until the genocidal war and blockade against Gaza are brought to an end, positioning itself as a staunch ally of Palestinian resistance and a key regional actor opposing Israeli aggression.
