TEHRAN – Iran football team defeated Afghanistan 3-1 in CAFA Nation Cup on Friday.
Iran faced Afghanistan in the Group B competition of the CAFA tournament at the National Stadium of Tajikistan.
Afghanistan lead the game with Omid Mousavi goal in 21st minute. But Iran leveled the score in 26th minutes by Majid Aliyari. 
Then, Iran’s pressure to score the winning goal continued, and in the 36th minute, Amir Hussein Husseinzadeh opened the Afghan goal for the second time with a precise shot from behind six steps.
Finally, the first half ended with Iran leading 2-1 against Afghanistan.
In the second half, the Persians showed a superior game and most of the ball was in the Afghan field. In the 64th minute, Aliyari opened the scoring for the third time on a pass from Husseinzadeh to make the match 3-1.
Iran will face India on Monday, September 1, in the second match of the CAF tournament.
