MAPNA Unveils First Advanced Class F Gas Turbine Unit
TEHRAN – Iran’s MAPNA Turbine Engineering and Manufacturing Company (TOGA) on Monday unveiled the first advanced Class F gas turbine unit in presence of Iran’s Energy Minister Abbas Aliabadi.
The MGT-75 turbine, utilizing modern technologies including a 3D axial compressor, single-crystal and directional blades, an advanced cooling system, and modern thermal coatings, have high efficiency and performance on par with international models.
This powerful Class F turbine has a power of 222 MW and is also equipped with a Can-annular combustion system that, while reducing environmental pollutants, also is capable of dual-fuel; using a combination of natural gas and hydrogen.
This turbine can serve as an effective solution in overcoming the energy imbalance and developing renewable energies and meeting the current and future needs of Iran’s electricity industry.
The achievement of class F turbine technology is a symbol of the country’s industrial savvy and trust in indigenous knowledge, which is an important step in the path of developing and increasing Iran’s competitive power in the energy sector.
MAPNA, a power and infrastructure group billed as the Iranian Siemens, produces turbines in the face of sanctions.
The company is the largest contractor for steam, gas and combined cycle and renewable power plants in Iran and has carried out major projects in the Middle East and beyond.
