IAEA Team Holds ‘Technical’ Talks in Tehran
TEHRAN -- An IAEA official visited Tehran Tuesday for talks with Iranian authorities, marking the first meeting since Iran suspended cooperation following Israeli attacks on its nuclear sites.
Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said discussions focused on “the manner of cooperation” under new circumstances, with Iran protesting the IAEA’s “failure to exercise responsibility” during the attacks. The visit did not include inspections of nuclear facilities, rejected earlier by Iran. The talks were described as “technical” and “complicated”.
