Official: 600 MW Solar Power Plant to Join Iran’s Grid

TEHRAN - Manager of Iran’s Power Plants Project Muhammad Dost Muhammadi on Monday announced the construction of the 9 MW Chehel Dokhtar solar power plant in Shahrood has reached its final stage and will soon be connected to the national grid.
Referring to the manager of the national three-megawatt solar power plant plan, Dost Muhammadi said, the construction of the 9 MW Chehel Dokhtar solar power plant in Shahrood has reached its final stage in just 2.5 months and will soon be injected into Iran’s electricity grid.
He added, the installation of the panels and solar electrical operations of this power plant have been completed, and in the case of compact substations operation in the near future, the groundwork will be prepared for its connection to the national electricity grid.
Dost Muhammadi added: This project started in early June this year and, given its very short implementation time, is among the fastest solar power plant construction projects in the country.
Pointing out that the construction of a 3-megawatt power plant takes about 25 to 45 days depending on the conditions of the construction site, he continued: The process of constructing a solar power plant includes sections such as technical studies, land allocation, equipping the workshop, foundation operations, installing structures, installing panels, cable channels conduits, performing electrical operations, and finally testing, commissioning, and connecting to the grid.
The manager of the project said, by the end of August, the capacity of renewable power plants in Semnan province will increase by a total of 27 megawatts.
Dost Muhammadi continued, 3,000 megawatts of 3-megawatt power plants are operating in about 1,000 locations across the country, and based on the measures that are being taken, we are trying to bring 600 megawatts of the 3,000 megawatts of 3-megawatt power plants into operation during peak periods and this summer.
