Isfahan’s Fiber-Optic Network Tops 12,000-KM Long

ISFAHAN - Head of the Isfahan telecommunications department Asghar Farqlitian announced over 12,000 kilometers of fiber optic network has been spanned in the province and about 50,000 high-speed internet subscribers benefit from the services on this platform.
Speaking at a press conference in the Isfahan Press Complex on Sunday, Farqlitian said, all banks, organizations and large commercial places in the province are currently connected to the fiber-optic network and we plan to increase the length of the network in Isfahan to meet future demands .
 He added that about 600,000 people are subscribers to the high-speed internet, and 50,000 of whom benefit from the fiber-optic services.
He emphasized, the development of the fiber-optic network is a more reliable, sustainable and better alternative to the copper cable network, which in addition to data transmission, boosting the transmission range, reduces energy consumption.
He noted, this year, 519 projects will be implemented in Isfahan region’s telecommunications, many of which will lead to the development of Internet services for industries and businesses. The more we equip the industry to use the Internet, the better the country’s production will be.
