TEHRAN – Iranian boxer Ali Cheheraghani on Sunday won gold medal at Asian Youth Boxing Championships in Bangkok, Thailand.
Cheheraghani faced Adilet Tortobek from Kazakhstan in the final match of the 60 kg youth weight category and managed to defeat his opponent in a thrilling fight and won the gold medal of Iran.
 Earlier, Mehdi Roozbahani in the 50 kg weight category, Ashkan Hashemi in the 65 kg weight category, Muhammad Saleh Mesbahi in the 70 kg weight category, and Abbas Garshasbi in the 90+ kg weight category had won bronze medals in the event.
 Amir Reza Soltani in the 55 kg weight category, Mehdi Sabzi in the 75 kg weight category, and Armin Shahbai in the 90 kg weight category failed to advance to next round and were eliminated.
