Iranian, Egyptian Qur’an Reciters Unite in Call for Aid to Gaza

TEHRAN — In response to the continuing brutal aggression and deadly siege imposed by the Zionist regime on the people of Gaza, the Community of Qur’an Reciters in the Islamic Republic of Iran has issued a powerful open letter addressed to Qur’an scholars, reciters, and carriers of the Divine voice in Egypt.
The letter, published this week, appeals for a courageous and principled stance grounded in Qur’anic teachings to support the besieged Palestinian population. It calls on Egyptian Qur’anic figures to leverage their spiritual and social influence to demand the urgent reopening of the Rafah crossing, a vital humanitarian lifeline currently sealed by the Israeli blockade.
Highlighting the shared pain of the Muslim Ummah over the horrific conditions in Gaza—where defenseless children, women, and the injured suffer from starvation, lack of medicine, and indiscriminate attacks—the letter stresses the duty of all believers to translate their Qur’anic recitations into active support for the oppressed.
Citing key Qur’anic verses such as “And what is [the matter] with you that you fight not in the cause of Allah and [for] the oppressed among men, women, and children…” (Surah An-Nisa 4:75), the Iranian reciters emphasize that defending the oppressed transcends armed struggle and includes taking a courageous public stand.
The letter denounces the Zionist regime’s ongoing massacres and siege as a blatant manifestation of injustice warned against in the Qur’an, affirming the inevitability of divine justice. It urges Egyptian religious leaders to raise their voices not only through Qur’anic recitation but also through determined advocacy to break the blockade and deliver essential aid to Gaza.
The Iranian Qur’an reciters conclude by reminding that “Indeed, the believers are but brothers” (Surah Al-Hujurat 49:10), calling for unity, shared suffering, and collective effort to open a path toward relief and justice for the Palestinian people.
