President: National Unity, Armed Forces Helped Achieve Victory

TEHRAN — President Masoud Pezeshkian here Sunday credited Iran’s decisive triumph in the recent 12-day war to the country’s robust defense capabilities and unwavering national cohesion, highlighting their critical role in overcoming the Israeli regime’s aggression.
Speaking during an unannounced visit to Iran’s Oil Ministry, Pezeshkian praised the ministry’s managers and staff for their tireless efforts to ensure uninterrupted energy supplies throughout the Israeli-imposed conflict.
“It was you, together with people from all walks of life, who, with insight and timely wisdom, foiled the enemy’s schemes to destabilize the country,” the president stated.
“Without the unity and active participation of our people on the ground, alongside the strength of our Armed Forces and missile capabilities that shattered Israel’s reputation, this victory would not have been possible.”
Pezeshkian also reaffirmed the Iranian administration’s commitment to pursuing diplomacy to prevent future conflicts.
“War benefits no one and never truly produces a winner,” he said.
“Our steadfast goal is to promote peace, tranquility, and stability, grounded in our national motto of unity, internal solidarity, and fostering friendly relations with neighbors and the wider international community.
“We do not seek aggression, nor do we intend to initiate conflict; however, we will firmly resist any attempts at intimidation or coercion,” he added.
The 12-day conflict began on June 13 when Israel launched a blatant and unprovoked attack against Iran, targeting and assassinating senior military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians.
Shortly after, the United States escalated the situation by bombing three Iranian nuclear sites, in clear violation of the United Nations Charter, international law, and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
In retaliation, the Iranian Armed Forces struck strategic targets across the occupied territories and the Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar — the largest U.S. military installation in West Asia.
On June 24, Israel declared a unilateral ceasefire with no preconditions, signaling its defeat in the face of Iran’s powerful and unwavering response.
