Youth Freestyle Wrestlers Claim Asian Championship

TEHRAN - Iran’s youth freestyle wrestling team  on Sunday won the U-20 Asian Championship by winning 4 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal, with 179 points.
The U-20 Asian Youth Freestyle Wrestling Championship was held on July 11 and 13 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
the Iranian team won the championship title by winning 7 medals. 4 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal at the event.
For the Iranian team, Ebrahim Elahi won the gold medal in the 70 kg weight category, Muhammad Mehdi Mamyovand won the 74 kg weight category, Abolfazl Rahmani won the 86 kg weight category and Erfan Alizadeh won the 97 kg weight category, Abolfazl Shamsipour won the 79 kg weight category and Tohid Nouri won the silver medal in the 92 kg weight category and Arshia Haddadi won the bronze medal in the 57 kg weight category.
In the team ranking, Iran won the championship with 179 points, while the Indian teams came in second and third with 157 and Kazakhstan with 133 points.
Earlier, the Iranian Greco-Roman wrestling team had also won the Asian Youth Championship by winning 4 gold medals and 5 bronze medals.
