Iranian Association Issues Emotional Message to Gaza Children
TEHRAN -- The Iranian Association of Writers for Children and Youth has issued a powerful and deeply emotional message to the children of Gaza, condemning Israel’s ongoing genocide.
The poignant statement, released on Thursday, expresses profound sorrow over the devastating impact of Israel’s genocide on innocent lives and sharply criticizes the international community’s perceived silence.
The association’s message opens with a stark contrast between global advancement and the grim reality in Gaza for children.
“The Ferris wheel of the world spins and spins,” the statement reads, adding, “but in your land, there has never been a Ferris wheel for play.”
It laments humanity’s retreat from compassion despite breakthroughs in science and technology, highlighting the tragic irony of a world that champions children’s rights yet witnesses “thousands of defenseless children being dragged through dust and blood in Gaza.”
The writers accuse the world of deliberately ignoring “the most horrific crime in the history against children,” noting that the world has ignored this reality.
They express profound disillusionment with global organizations, questioning the efficacy of the United Nations and UNICEF, concluding these names offer “nothing but the hypocrisy of silence.”
The message turns directly to the affected children and reads, “So we speak to you, suffering child; to you whom the world has shown nothing but its violence and oppression.”
The powerful message ends with a resolute commitment: “We are children’s writers, and we will not let history forget you.”
