‘Prophet Moses’ Unveils New Trailer
TEHRAN -- The acclaimed Iranian film ‘Prophet Moses’ directed by Ebrahim Hatamikia has unveiled a new trailer, garnering over 900,000 views after release in Iran.
The biopic has already achieved significant commercial success, grossing 607 billion rials to date, securing its position as the second highest-grossing non-comedy film of the Persian calendar year 1404 (2024-2025).
With its compelling narrative and strong audience reception, ‘Prophet Moses’ can be a standout cinematic achievement in Iranian cinema.
The biopic narrates the events happening around the birth of Prophet Moses.
The film, starring renowned actors such as Merila Zarei, Behnam Tashakkor, Farhad Ayeesh, and Bahareh Kianafshar, was a success at the 43rd Fajr Film Festival in Iran. It set a record by winning five Crystal Simorgh awards.
The trailer includes a poignant moment in which a character says, “No baby must be born without you knowing that”—a direct allusion to the biblical and Qur’anic narrative of Prophet Moses’ infancy, when his mother hid him from Pharaoh’s decree to kill all newborn boys.
