Iran to Set Up Center for Promotion of Nahj al-Balagha

TEHRAN – Iran plans to set up a national headquarters for development and promotion of the culture of Nahj al-Balagha, a deputy culture and Islamic guidance minister said.
Hamid Reza Arbab Soleimani said the secretariat of the headquarters has started operating and will hold its first session ahead of Eid al-Ghadir.
Nahj al-Balagha, he said, is a book of insight that needs to be revisited in the contemporary world and can teach people the right way of life in all spheres.
The executive secretary of the International Ghadir Foundation at the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance referred to the recent recommendation of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution to the country’s cultural activists, reminding that Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei recommended the study and teaching of Nahj al-Balagha on and the first day of the New Persian year on March 20.
Arbab Soleimani said that in recent weeks, the Culture Ministry’s Qur’an and Etrat deputy has been trying to play a constructive role in advancing this demand by forming specialized working groups and using the opinions of experts and activists in this field.
He said the main strategy is to create a widespread, inclusive, and popular movement to promote and teach the knowledge and culture of Nahj al-Balagha.
The establishment of the National Headquarters for the Development and Promotion of the Culture of Nahj al-Balagha is aimed at activating, coordinating, and synergizing all governmental and popular capacities, he added.
Nahj al-Balagha is a collection of sermons, letters and sayings left as a memorial from the Imam Ali (AS). The book was compiled by Sayed Radhi over a thousand years ago.
