Tractor Claim First-Ever Iran Pro League Title
TEHRAN – The Tractor
football team defeated Shams Azar 4-0 to win the Iran Professional League (IPL) title for the first time.
On Friday, Tractor celebrated its maiden championship at the Sardar Azadegan Stadium in Qazvin.
Domagoj Drozdek netted a brace as well as goals from Amir Hossein Hosseinzadeh and Ricardo Alves (penalty).
Sepahan suffered a 2-1 home loss against Gol Gohar in Isfahan’s Naghsh-e Jahan Stadium. Amir Mohammad Razzaghinia and Mehdi Tikdari scored for the visiting team. Sepahan defender Arya Yousefi was shown a red card just before halftime. Muhammad Mehdi Mohebbi halved the deficit in the 75th minute.
In Tehran’s Azadi Stadium, Esteghlal defeated Aluminum 5-1 thanks to goals from Ramin Rezaeian, Mohammad Hossein Eslami, Masoud Joma and Joel Kojo (two goals). Shervin Bozorg pulled a goal back from Aluminum.
Malavan was held to a 3-3 draw in Bandar Anzali.
Tractor will represent Iran at the 2025-26 AFC Champions League Elite.
Persepolis is the most decorated team, winning the title nine times out of 24 editions, followed by Sepahan with five titles.
