TEHRAN – A peace group from the Japanese city of Hiroshima has visited the Iranian island of Kharg in the south of the county in the Persian Gulf.
The group, which is Tehran to attend the Fajr International Film Festival, visited the island on a two-day trip at the invitation of official and residents of Kharg Island.
During the visit, they watched The Miracle of the Bonasan), a film jointly produced by Iran and Japan, directed by Habib Ahmadzadeh and written by Zeinab Ahmadzadeh.
During their stay, they visited historical and religious sites and met with the governor and officials of the region and a petrochemical company. A number of war veterans and their families and artistic personalities accompanied them in the visit.
The visit was in response to the Hiroshima-based peace group’s invitation to Iranian victims of chemical weapons and Iranian actors and artists to visit Japan.
