Bavar, S-300 Systems Tested Working Together in Drill

TEHRAN – Armed forces on Wednesday tested an integrated operation of homegrown Bavar 373 and S-300 air defense missile systems against high-altitude targets.
On the final day of the second stage of Iqtedar drills, the two systems detected and detonated high-altitude targets.
“Some enemy officials and media outlets, after the malicious attack in October, had claimed that they had rendered Iran’s long-range air defense systems non-operational,” national broadcaster IRIB said, referring to Israeli strikes.
The exercises Wednesday took place one day after Zionist prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu met U.S. President Donald Trump to discuss regional topics including Iran.
The second stage of Iqtedar (might) drills involving the Iranian air defense units started on Tuesday, focusing on the protection of the southwestern airspace.
The air defense bases participating in the exercise practiced tactics to detect, track, intercept and shoot down hostile targets over areas in southwest and central Iran.
Iran’s homegrown ‘Majid’ air defense missile system took the lead during the new stage of the drill by bringing down various types of pilotless aircraft.
On Sunday, the defense ministry unveiled an upgraded version of Bavar 373 air defense missile system, whose launcher stations have been equipped with separate radar sets that provide detection and tracking of targets as well as fire control, allowing each launcher to act independently without reliance on a central radar.
