Gen. Salami: IRGC Missiles Can Hit Any Hostile Target
TEHRAN -- The missiles at the IRGC’s disposal can hit any hostile target across the region, head of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Major General Hussein Salami said on Monday.
Addressing a scientific conference here, Salami said the enemies can instantly feel the magnitude of the IRGC Aerospace Force’s power.
The IRGC Aerospace Force, he said, has been able to alter the global equations, although it has utilized only a small fraction of its power.
“Our missiles can hit any target of the enemy in the region and defeat the enemy’s missile systems,” he said, citing the retaliatory missile strike the IRGC carried out against the U.S. military base of Ain al-Assad in Iraq in January 2020.
“This power forms the basis of our deterrence,” he said.
The commander also praised the IRGC Quds Force, saying it has worn out the enemy’s energy in vast fields and exposed it to gradual erosion.
Pointing to the Islamic Republic’s simultaneous countering of all types of threats, the general stressed the need to block any path of infiltration and fight against the adversaries day and night.
Salami said the IRGC has taken immense strides towards enhancing its armory and combat skills.
“In terms of weaponry, it is far more advanced and much more skilled in its capabilities than before, remaining highly motivated in building power.”
IRGC forces, he said, have never been afraid of sacrificing their lives in defending the nation since the victory of Iran’s Islamic Revolution.
Salami pointed to the tumultuous stages that the IRGC has gone through since its establishment, saying it has grown strong and established its identity in the battlefield.
“The IRGC has learned not to be intimidated by the façade of the glory of the empires,” he added.
Salami thanked Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei for providing the force with effective leadership and guidance that has led to its success.
“It is the Leader who guides us against the enemies with strategies based on wisdom and thought,
and does not allow us to be satisfied with the status quo. We must be grateful for this divine blessing.”
Elsewhere in his remarks, the commander hailed the regional resistance movements for defeating the 16-month-long war of the Zionist regime and its allies on Gaza.
“The Palestinians, who fought with stones, after 16 months of struggle, are still laying out their power against Israel. Hezbollah, despite heavy blows, stood firm and its youths demonstrated the most beautiful scenes. The Yemenis also rendered the United States and the United Kingdom ineffective.”
