Russia-Iran Trade Tops $3.3bn

TEHRAN – Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk has put Iran and Russia trade volume in the first nine months in Iran calendar at $3.3 billion, registering a 14.7 percent growth compared to the last year’s corresponding period.
The volume of trade exchanges between Russia and Iran increased by 14.7% to $3.3 billion in the first nine months in Iran calendar (March 21-December 20), according to the Russian official.
According to Ria Novesti as cited by local Iranian media, Overchuk said that “The agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Iran in the field of free trade zone will allow Russian companies to save $300 million annually in customs duties.”
Iran export of products to Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member in the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year has increased to about 21 and 22 percent in value and weight, respectively.
In that nine-month period, about 3.860 million tons of non-oil goods, valued at $1.5 billion, were exported from Iran to the five member states of the union between March and December 2024
Some 3.170 million tonnes of non-oil products, valued at $1.240 billion, had been exported from Iran to EAEU member states between March and December 2023.
Iran exported 1.960 million tonnes, 1.480 million tonnes, 360,000 tonnes, 44,000 tonnes and 14,000 tonnes to Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Belarus, respectively.
Regarding the country’s import of products from member states of the union, Iran imported about 1.630 million tonnes of non-oil goods, valued at $1.210 billion from March to December 22, 2024.
This is while that Iran had imported 2.960 million tonnes, valued at $1.5 billion, from EAEU member states between March and December 22, 2023.
In this period, Iran had imported non-oil goods from Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus.
