Faraji Beats Swedish Rival at ITTF World Youth Championships
TEHRAN – Iranian 14-year-old table tennis player Benyamin Faraji has defeated rival from host Sweden 4-1 at the 2024 ITTF World Youth Championships underway in Helsingborg.
Faraji beat Swedish rival Adam Wallin 4-1 to advance to the Round of 32 at the sporting event.
He will meet the winner of the match between Japan and Hong Kong.
The 2024 ITTF World Youth Championships is being held in Helsingborg, Sweden, from November 22-30.
In October, Faraji had defeated world number one Wang Chuqin from China in a match held as part of the 2024 Asian Table Tennis Championships.
Faraji beat Wang 3-2 in the quarterfinals of the tournament that was held in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Wang Chuqin is a 2024 Paris Olympic gold medalist.
