Sheikh Naim Qassem:

Hezbollah to Shape Outcome Only on Battlefield

BEIRUT (Dispatches) –
Hezbollah’s new chief Sheikh Naim Qassem said Wednesday the resistance movement is determined to force Israel to end its war on Lebanon, stating that only the battlefield can bring to end the ongoing war.
In his second public address since assuming leadership, Qassem said there is no place within the Israeli occupied territories where “our drones and missiles cannot reach”.
Hezbollah, he said, does not rely on political factors to halt the conflict.
“We do not rely on American elections, whether Harris succeeds or Trump wins; this has no value for us,” he said, referring to the U.S. presidential election which reportedly gave Donald Trump a second term in the White House after winning against Kamala Harris.
“Hezbollah is prepared to shape the outcome through military engagement,” Qassem said.
Hezbollah has been preparing for such confrontations since the 2006 July war, enhancing its training, armament, and operational capabilities, he said.
“Through resistance, strength, preparedness, and endurance, we will triumph over Israel,” Qassem said. “In our lexicon, there is only patience, endurance, and remaining on the field until victory.”
Qassem said steps taken by Israel to defeat Hezbollah and occupy Lebanon will not succeed due to the resilience and commitment of the Lebanese resistance to defend their homeland.
“We will make the Israeli enemy fully aware that on the battlefield it is losing and not winning; this loss will prevent it from achieving its goals.”
According to Qassem, Israel aims to eliminate Hezbollah’s presence and then occupy Lebanon. The Zionist regime, he said, is threatening to make Lebanon another West Bank.
Hezbollah’s operations have confounded the Israeli enemy, he added.
“The Israeli enemy has found that the level of confrontation has been very high; hence it fears engagement and has … announced it has no additional targets because it faced strong resistance.”
Qassem said, “On the borders, we have tens of thousands of trained resistance fighters who can confront and endure.”
“They have dedicated their lives to God; they do not seek worldly gains but understand that their success in the world before the Hereafter lies in resisting the occupation.”
The strength of the resistance, Qassem said, lies in its will and continuity despite disparities in military capabilities.
Qassem paid tribute to late Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, calling him a model for noble leaders who have walked in God’s path and made great sacrifices.
He said Nasrallah resides in the hearts of people across the world as a symbol of resistance.
“Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah is an exemplary leader—an inspiring educator who is courageous and bold; a scholar in the school of Velayat and a banner for Palestinian liberation,” Qassem said.
“The light in his words guides us; his positions put us on the path to a dignified life.”
Qassem said Nasrallah built a resilient party encompassing all segments of society—it is a party for young and old, women and men, free people and resistors.
On Wednesday, Hezbollah said it launched fresh strikes against Israeli targets inside the occupied Palestinian territories.
The resistance movement launched a salvo of missiles at the Tzrifin military base near the Ben Gurion International Airport, south of Tel Aviv.
A rocket fired from Lebanon also fell inside the airport. The Israeli military said Hezbollah had fired about 120 projectiles across the border from Lebanon on Wednesday.
“Approximately 120 projectiles that were fired by the Hezbollah terrorist organization have crossed from Lebanon into Israel today,” the military said after sirens sounded in northern and central Israel.
Israel’s Channel 12 said the rocket caused delays in the landing and take-off of flights at the airport.
Hezbollah also targeted a military installation in the Metulla settlement with a guided rocket. The direct hit resulted in deaths and injuries among soldiers who had been fortified inside the compound.
Casualties were also reported as the resistance fighters struck a Merkava tank, which caught fire and was completely destroyed during the operation in the same area.
Hezbollah fighters further launched a salvo of rockets at a gathering of Israeli soldiers in Sasa, Kfar Sold and Kiryat Shmona settlements.
Finally, it announced targeting the regime’s Ma’ale Golani barracks and Rawia base in occupied Golan Heights and an explosives factory in Hadera, south of Haifa.
Hezbollah has pledged to continue its retaliatory operations until Israel ceases its aggression on Lebanon and Gaza.
The Israeli military carried out new attacks on Lebanon, leaving more civilians dead and injured.
Baalbek governor Bachir Khodr said that least 30 people were martyred and another 35 injured in 20 strikes by Israeli fighter jets.
Warplanes bombed a residential building in the town of Barja, south of the capital Beirut late Tuesday. The attack left at least 20 people dead and a dozen others injured.
Airstrikes also hit the coastal town of Jiyeh, killing a person and injuring 20 others.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq said it used drones to strike a vital target in Haifa on Wednesday morning. Later in the day, it claimed a second drone strike on another key Israeli position in the southern side of the occupied territories.
