Egyptian, Iranian FMs Hold Phone Talks
TEHRAN -- Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Monday called for the expansion of diplomatic efforts to establish peace in Gaza and Lebanon in a phone conversation with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty.
Araghchi said Israeli leaders aim to expand the war throughout West Asia. Iran, he said, is after a ceasefire but it reserves its legitimate right to defend itself against any Israeli aggression. Abdelatty, for his part, placed a premium on the need for de-escalation efforts in the region.
