Gaza Filmmaker Addresses Ammar Festival
TEHRAN -- In a message from Khan Younis in the besieged Gaza Strip, Palestinian filmmaker Saud Muhanna has thanked the Ammar Popular Film Festival in Iran for showing the plight of Palestinians.
Muhanna, president of the Palestinian Film Forum and founder of the International Return Film Festival, extended thanks to the festival’s director Marzieh Hashemi and other organizers.
Addressing the festival from a Gaza refugee camp, Muhanna conveyed a message of resilience and commitment and underscored the determination of Palestinians to persevere until their ultimate victory.
“We stand firm, steadfast, and resilient until, God willing, victory comes,” he said, emphasizing the importance of solidarity from international platforms like Ammar.
The Ammar Popular Film Festival, now approaching its 15th edition, was founded in 2010 to amplify voices that challenge oppressive narratives and advocate for justice through art.
With screenings set to take place in Tehran and other Iranian cities this December, the festival continues its tradition of celebrating art as a powerful medium for resistance, unity, and social change.
