FM Araghchi Outlines Iran’s Response to Israeli Aggression:

Iran Will Neither Dither Nor Rush

TEHRAN – Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi here Tuesday denounced Israel’s aerial aggression against Iran as “a flagrant violation of internal law, saying the Islamic Republic will neither hesitate nor rush in responding to the occupying regime.
“As we had previously warned in various ways, Iran has fully reserved its legal right to respond appropriately to such a clear aggression, and the Israeli regime will bear the consequences of its miscalculations regarding the might, resolve and adeptness of the Islamic Republic of Iran. However, in doing so, Iran will neither hesitate nor act hastily,” Araghchi said in a meeting with a group of foreign ambassadors, heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations here.
He said Iran successfully neutralized the Israeli aggression, adding that the occupying regime failed to achieve its malicious goals.
However, “the assailant Zionist regime and its enablers cannot avoid the political and legal responsibility of this clear act of aggression and must be held accountable for it”, he added.
Araghchi further expressed gratitude “to all the peace-loving countries of the region and others who by realizing the severity of the situation, expressed their disgust and condemned the aggressive action of the occupying Israeli regime.”
The top Iranian diplomat said he deeply regrets the silence or support shown by some countries, saying such behavior emboldens the Israeli regime to continue its crimes.
He went on to say that the military support of some Western countries, particularly the United States, has led to the intensification of the Israeli regime’s aggression against Lebanon, which has seriously jeopardized regional and international peace and security.
Araghci further underscored the need for stopping Israeli aggression and crimes in Gaza and Lebanon, calling on the international community to take immediate and decisive measures to stop the killing of innocent Lebanese and Palestinians.
He urged members of the international community to address the urgent needs of the displaced and to facilitate relief and humanitarian assistance in Gaza and Lebanon, where innocent people are suffering due to ongoing bombings and violence.
Araghchi said the region will not experience peace until the aggression in Gaza and Lebanon comes to an end, adding that Iran has proposed a regional and practical solution for achieving a lasting, just, and comprehensive resolution, which is based on acknowledging the inherent rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination.
“Based on this approach, we believe that a lasting solution to the Palestinian issue is a democratic one, because the land of Palestine belongs to the Palestinian people, and any decision regarding its future must be made by the main inhabitants of Palestine, including Muslims, Jews and Christians,” the top Iranian diplomat noted.
Araghchi said the unique realities and geography of Lebanon must be carefully considered, as Hezbollah and the Lebanese resistance are deeply rooted in the country’s population and cannot be eliminated.
The minister highlighted the importance of all players working towards an immediate cessation of hostilities in both Lebanon and Palestine, stressing that the legitimate interests and aspirations of the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples must be taken into account to achieve a favorable diplomatic outcome.
He emphasized that plans prioritizing the interests of the Zionist regime are certain to fail.
Araghchi said the Security Council is obligated to take action against the Israeli regime’s ongoing war and violence in Gaza and Lebanon, calling for the imposition of severe sanctions on the Israeli regime, in line with Chapter VII of the UN Charter.
He pointed out that the U.S. support for the Zionist regime in the
Security Council is a major obstacle to the Council’s ability to address the regime’s international violations, which must come to an end.
On Monday night, during a phone call with his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Araghchi urged Muslim nations to coordinate efforts to halt Israel’s crimes and the brutal killing of people in the besieged Gaza Strip and Lebanon, expressing gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s swift stance in condemning the Zionist regime’s attack on Iran.
The two ministers discussed the latest developments in the region and emphasized the need to maintain contact and consultations with each other.
Farhan, for his part, reiterated his country’s stance in condemning Israel’s aggressive action in violating Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, emphasizing the need for all regional countries to work together to prevent the spread of insecurity.
