TEHRAN – Iran ranks 17th among the world nations in creating AI-based sciences, head of the Specialized Council for Development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Sadegh Khani Aliakbari said.
He criticized the lack of technical and legal infrastructure for the development of artificial intelligence, and asked the government to approve laws related to this field.
“In addition to creating technical infrastructure like high-speed internet and completing the optical fiber project, the government should take necessary measures to exploit the capacities of artificial intelligence,” Khani Aliakbari said.
In February, the head of Information Technology Organization of Iran (ITO) said that Iran ranked 15th in the world in terms of the number of articles in the field of artificial intelligence.
