Iran to Hold Israel to Account Over Assassination of Gen. Nilforoushan

TEHRAN – Iran said
Monday it will use all its capacities to hold Israel to account for the assassination of senior IRGC commander Brigadier General Abbas Nilforoushan in Beirut’s southern suburbs late last month.
In a statement, the ministry extended its condolences to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Iranian nation, freedom-loving peoples worldwide, and the top Iranian military adviser’s family.
“The criminal history of the Zionist entity, from its inception to this day, shows that tolerating its attacks and crimes makes it bolder and increases the magnitude of its crimes,” it said.
The ministry said the assassination of the prominent Iranian military leader is “an unlawful act and unforgivable crime”.
“Iran without any shred of doubt will use all its capabilities to hold the Zionist entity

accountable for this crime,” it said.
On Friday, officials announced the discovery of the body of Gen. Nilforoushan, the Quds Force commander in Lebanon, who was attending a meeting with Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in the southern suburbs of Beirut when they were targeted by Israel on Sept. 27.
The IRGC public relations department announced on Sunday that funeral services for Nilforoushan would be held in the Iraqi holy cities of Najaf and Karbala as well as in Iran’s northeastern holy city of Mashhad on Monday.
In Tehran, a ceremony of commemoration will be held on the Imam Hussein (AS) Square Tuesday. The martyr will be laid to rest on Wednesday in Iran’s central city of Isfahan.
