Gen. Qa’ani to Get Order of Fat’h From Leader
TEHRAN – Quds Force chief Brigadier General Esmail Qa’ani is in good health and will receive the Order of Fat’h (Conquest) from Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in the coming days, an advisor to the chief commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said Wednesday.
Brigadier General Ebrahim Jabari’s announcement quashed Western media speculations that the IRGC Quds Force commander might have been wounded or martyred in a massive Israeli strike in Beirut last week.
On Monday, Qa’ani sent a message to the 7th International Conference on Solidarity with Palestinian Children and Adolescents, offering profound apologies for not being able to take part in the event due to participation in another special meeting.
On January 3, 2020, Ayatollah Khamenei appointed Qa’ani as the new head of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force following the U.S. assassination of top anti-terror commander General Qassem Soleimani.
He described Qa’ani as one of the IRGC’s most prominent commanders during Saddam’s imposed war on Iran, which lasted eight years starting in 1980.
Qa’ani was serving as the Quds Force’s deputy commander prior to his appointment to direct the force.
