Hezbollah Strikes Zionist Regime Sites After Deadly Attack in Lebanon

BEIRUT (Dispatches) –Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah on Sunday struck the Zionist regime’s sites in northern parts of the occupied territories in response to airstrikes on towns in southern Lebanon.
The group said it fired a volley of rockets on the illegal settlements of Kiryat Shmona and Shamir in northern parts of the occupied territories in response to an Israeli strike on the town of Froun, which left three civil defense personnel dead and two others injured on Saturday.
The Lebanese group also said it targeted Israeli surveillance equipment at the Malikiya site with a drone strike, resulting in a direct hit.
Following Saturday’s Israeli strike, Lebanon’s caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati called for an emergency meeting with Western ambassadors and representatives of international organizations, scheduled for Monday.
Mikati demanded an urgent meeting with foreign ambassadors and representatives of international organizations in Lebanon.
Three paramedics were killed and two others were injured in the strike earlier that targeted a civil defense fire truck in southern Lebanon.
Mikati condemned “the new Israeli aggression that targeted Civil Defense personnel while they were performing their duty to extinguish fires caused by the enemy’s airstrikes on the southern town of Feroun.”
“This new aggression against Lebanon constitutes a blatant violation of international laws and represents a flagrant attack on humanitarian values,” he said in a statement.
“Based on the principle that the Israeli enemy disregards international laws and norms, I have called for an urgent meeting with Western ambassadors and representatives of international organizations at the government palace on Monday,” he added.
Mikati clarified that the aim of the meeting is “to hold everyone accountable for stopping the ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon and to pressure the Israeli enemy, which ignores any law and continues to fuel its crimes against Lebanon and the Lebanese people.”
The Israeli regime has been staging numerous sporadic attacks against southern Lebanon since October 7, 2023, when it launched a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.
Hezbollah has launched a series of strikes against Israeli positions in retaliation for the regime’s aggression against Lebanon and in solidarity with Palestinians in the besieged Gaza.
Hezbollah has vowed to keep up its reprisal operations as long as the occupying regime continues its brutal Gaza onslaught, which has so far killed nearly 41,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 94,616 others.
