Pezeshkian Vows to Form National Consensus Cabinet as First Step

TEHRAN – Iranian President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian on Tuesday underscored that the first step of his upcoming administration is to form a national consensus cabinet.
Addressing representatives of his presidential campaign in a meeting in Tehran, Pezeshkian said that his administration would form a cabinet of honest, experienced, and knowledgeable people to implement the general policies designated by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
The president-elect added that his administration will try hard to uphold unity and cohesion and serve the people of the Islamic country.
He promised efforts to gain the satisfaction of the people, which he said is an indicator of his administration’s good governance.
“Our country is in a state of severe sanctions, and we must all unite in the Islamic country with the aim of disappointing the enemies, because the enemies do not want us to be independent,” he said.
Pezeshkian added with unity, the Iranian people can show their dignity and pride to the world.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the president-elect stated that Iran’s authorities are obliged to be hostile to anyone in the world who oppresses others, adding, “Wherever the rights of the oppressed are ignored, we will stand with them.”
And also, the chairman of the Strategic Council of Foreign Relations (SCFR) Kamal Kharrazi voices hope Iran’s President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian will resolve the country’s foreign policy issues.
Pezeshkian’s approach to diplomatic relations with various countries is positive, said Kharrazi on Tuesday, following a meeting with the president-elect.
He said Pezeshkian believes the ground to further expand ties with all countries must be prepared.
Kharrazi also vowed to provide the president-elect with assistance during his term in office.
The former foreign minister expounded on the role of the SCFR in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic.
Iran’s President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian will be sworn in before the parliament next Tuesday as the ninth president of the Islamic Republic, a month after he won snap presidential elections held after the death of president Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash.
