TEHRAN – The chief executive of the Iranian Rail Equipment Manufacturing Company Morteza Mollanejad said the country exports rail parts and equipment to Europe.
Highlighting the capacity to manufacture locomotives in the country, Mollanejad described it as a matter of regret to see some domestic companies purchasing secondhand locomotives from China and Brazil.
Mollanejad said his company has held negotiations with Iraq, Turkey, Cuba, Poland and Afghanistan in the previous year for exporting rail parts and equipment to these countries.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed with Afghanistan for exporting the rail equipment to this neighboring country, Mollanejad added.
In addition, Iran Rail Equipment Manufacturing Company is offering quality repair and maintenance services to Iraqi companies, the official noted.
